Set on 150 acres in Morris, Connecticut, South Farms is a masterclass in adaptive reuse and creative design—where agrarian roots meet sophisticated rural elegance. At the heart of the property is The White Barn, a prominent 20th-century dairy barn transformed into a design-forward venue through a meticulous blend of reclaimed materials, steel accents, and artisanal lighting. The result is a setting that feels both timeless and tailored—for weddings, events, and cultural gatherings that value authenticity, architecture, and a true sense of place.
The Parlor
Capacity: Up to 150 seated
Originally equestrian stalls and the milking parlor, this space has been reimagined as the main dining and event area.
Features long aspect ratios, polished concrete floors, reclaimed wood walls, soaring ceilings, and dramatic barn doors. Industrial up-lighting adds a modern layer to its rustic foundation. Farm-salvaged materials offer rich texture and warmth.
The Hayloft
Capacity: Approximately 50 standing
Former hayloft, now transformed into an elevated lounge space.
A mezzanine-level space with 30–50 foot ceilings, antique furnishings, and a crow’s-nest vantage point over the Parlor. Romantic and airy, yet cozy and intimate.
The Bullroom
Capacity: Small bar/lounge setting
Once home to the farm’s bulls, retaining original barn details.
A moody, character-rich space with a hand-hewn bar made from polished hemlock, iron accents, gray-washed walls and rustic textures that evoke speakeasy charm.
The Lounge
Capacity: Up to 55/60 guests seated / 120 standing
Designed as a flexible gathering space for smaller events.
A minimalist, intimate room ideal for micro weddings, private dinners, or creative workshops. Orange hay elevator and fuel bowl sconces, 12’ wide scythe chandelier, subtle steel and polished concrete bar, historical vignettes, long banquette, versatile layouts make the lounge an inviting cozy blank canvas.
The Stone Barn
Capacity: Flexible, based on layout
Repurposed for multi-use indoor/outdoor experiences.
Features an one-of-a-kind arched white poplar tree chandelier, open-floor adaptability, unique acoustics and natural flow into exterior lawns. Perfect for ceremonies and experiential gatherings.
Outside of the Stone Barn is our wandering stone wall with granite steps that lead down to the outdoor ceremony area.
The Grounds
Capacity: Outdoor spaces that can accommodate a tent for up to 250 guests & lawn space for accommodating 600+ in open air.
Designed to embrace the property’s natural contours and historic farm character.
Includes two large courtyards, a ceremony shed with a clean rural-modern altar experience, and a large landscaped field with a pond, gazebo, bridges, boardwalk, native plantings, and trails. Framed views of the Litchfield Hills complete the backdrop.
Chef’s Garden
Capacity: Up to 36 guests
A new addition designed to highlight our on-site chef’s garden.
Adjoining the Flower Shop, and framed by a custom trellis, Argentinian grill, and silos, this open-air, seated space overlooking the pond and meadows invites guests into a truly immersive dining experience. Ideal for private chef dinners, seasonal celebrations, or micro gatherings, surrounded by the very herbs and vegetables that inspire the menu.
